See the list below of non-profits that could use more volunteers! We believe strongly in families giving back to their community by volunteering their time and making donations. Families can make a difference in their community without it necessarily being a big time commitment or expense. We encourage parents to set an example for their children by demonstrating different ways to give, through donating toys and clothes or by helping serve meals during the holidays. You will be teaching your children empathy and compassion. Below are ways parents and kids can give back to our community.

The 100 Mile Club is a physical fitness and life skills project for all individuals based on the goal of running (or walking) 100 miles at school or work during a single school year.
We now have 40 participating schools and walking groups in 4 states! With over 10,000 members we're growing really, really, REALLY fast!

We are in need of bread, peanut butter and boxed goods such as Macaroni and Cheese.
I have been collecting for 12th Rock Ministry who delivers bread to the homeless, eldery and families that are struggling getting basic needs to their children. This particular ministry picks up at my house on the 1st and 15th of each month. They concentrate on Downtown Corona.
This program supports Chino Hills families who may need some help to provide presents, food, and clothing for their families during the holiday season. Last year, over 100 families were adopted and more than 300 children enjoyed gifts of toys, clothing, and food. Call if you know of a family in need or you can donate your time, funds, or gifts.
Get A Grip, an Orange County based foundation, was established in 2000 as a 501(c)3 privately operating foundation. The objective of the Foundation is to introduce golf to children (ages 7-18) at no cost. Along with golf instruction, the program offers education and life skills tutoring.
Our goal is to provide a motivating educational environment where children of all social levels develop self-esteem, personal and civic responsibility, dedication, sound values, and advanced education for lifelong confidence.
Each student in the program will adhere to the G.R.I.P.P.E.R.S. Life Skills grid that consists of: Goals, Respect, Integrity, Perseverance, Patience, Etiquette, Responsibility, and Safety. These Life Skills will enable students to develop into responsible young adults.
Founded in 1959, Peppermint Ridge is a non-profit organization with the mission of providing loving homes and empowering support services for individuals with developmental disabilities, gently guiding these special people toward greater independence and fuller community participation.

The Settlement House provides resources (education and relief) for needy families. Their goal is that no individual or family will go without food or shelter, and no child will go to school without proper clothes. They have a Thrift Store, Food Pantry, Rent and Mortgage Assistance, Emergency Shelter, Utility Assistance, Network Referral Service, School Clothing, Holiday Food Baskets, and Holiday Toy Program.
Every child deserves a chance to be a STAR at school! There are over 200 children in Chino Hills who are unable to afford basic school supplies and backpacks for the 2006/07 school year. You can help by donating a backpack with school supplies for a girl or boy in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Gifts cards and monetary donations help too.
Teen Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit organization working with families with troubled teens. Teen Rescue, Inc. is a nationwide support service to families in crisis. Their goal is to restore the relationship between the family and the child. They are a free referral service, assisting families looking for help for their at-risk teens. Whether the need is locating a missing teen, transporting a high risk teen to an appropriate program, acting as a liaison between families and law enforcement, school counselors, and other government agencies, providing comprehensive parent training, or designing a plan of action for the troubled teen and the family; Teen Rescue can help.
Teen Rescue also has a Christian residential boarding school for struggling teenage girls, the Julian Youth Academy. We require a high level of commitment and involvement by the parents. After completion of the program, we also provide an Aftercare program to followup and support the teen and their family after the return home. Julian Youth Academy is an accredited High School.
